Michael’s story

When Michael came to BIAS he was struggling financially.

Michael worked in construction throughout his life. Since retiring he had spent a number of years very isolated, suffering from depression. Until he came to BIAS he was unaware of his entitlement to a pension and until then he had been living on his savings. Pension services were contacted and within three weeks Michael received a large sum of back-dated money.

With the help of BIAS Michael was reconnected with the community and is no longer isolated, having a much wider social network. He no longer suffers from depression and is planning a trip to Ireland for the first time in 14 years.
