Lá Fhéile Pádraig at BIAS

As you can imagine, there’s no bigger celebration in the Irish calendar than Lá Fhéile Pádraig (St. Patrick’s Day). At BIAS, we didn’t just celebrate for a day—we stretched the festivities across an entire week, filled with events, music, plenty of community spirit!

Both our Haringey and Brent clubs hosted their own special celebrations, bringing members together to mark the occasion in style.

The Big Day!

With over 140 attendees, our Brent Active Ageing Club hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Day party at the Cricklewood Railway Club.

The room was alive with energy, thanks to traditional Irish music from Raggle Taggle, while guests enjoyed a delicious spread of Irish stew and freshly baked brown bread, lovingly prepared by Trish. The atmosphere was unforgettable!

We were also delighted to welcome a visit from our local Mayor, Ryan Hack. A special thank you goes to Eddie O’Kane for generously providing raffle prizes, including a wonderful hamper of Irish produce and goods. It was truly a fantastic day for everyone involved!

A week of celebrations!

Nóra kept the celebrations going strong at our Haringey clubs, hosting St. Patrick’s Day parties on both Wednesday 18th March and Friday 20th March. These events brought together members for more music, dancing, and festive cheer, ensuring that no one missed out on the celebrations!

On Wednesday we had live music from Declan Gaynor who kept the dance floor busy! Whilst on Friday, we had music from Kieran White and some lovely fresh hot food made by Nóra herself, as well as volunteers Ann, Sophie and Aodamar.

We were also delighted to be joined by Mary McKenna from the Irish Embassy.

Celebrations like these are a wonderful reminder of the vibrant and thriving Irish community across London.

Go raibh maith agaibh

A heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who brought these celebrations to life. Your time, energy, and dedication make everything we do possible.

Without you, we simply couldn’t run our clubs or host these special events. Thank you for continuing to show up and for helping make our community what it is.

What’s next at BIAS

Just because St. Patrick’s Day is over doesn’t mean the celebrations stop! Some of our key upcoming events:

  • Declan Gaynor – live music in Cricklewood on Thursday 26th March
  • Easter celebrations across our clubs at Hornsey Vale on Friday 27th March, Dollis Hill on Tuesday 31st March and Tottenham Hale on Wednesday 1st April.

Our Brent club activities will resume from Thursday 9th April onwards, and our Haringey clubs will start back from Wednesday 15th April. We hope to see you soon, looking forward to welcoming you at our clubs. Slán go fóill!
