February has been another busy month for BIAS across Brent and Haringey. Alongside our club activities, our advice drop-in clinics and wider community projects have continued working to support members of our community. Here’s a snapshot of what’s been happening this month.
Valentine’s Celebrations at the Brent Clubs!
In light of Valentine’s Day (Lá Fhéile Vailintín), members at our Brent clubs enjoyed a Valentine’s-themed afternoon alongside fantastic live music from Kieran White on Thursday 12th February. With singing, dancing and plenty of laughter, it was a wonderful way to bring people together!
Live Music and Valentine’s Fun at the Haringey Clubs
We had a busy month at our Haringey Clubs, with brilliant live performances across both locations.
At our Hornsey Club, members enjoyed live music from Paul Murray on 6th February, while our Tottenham Club welcomed Heidi McCafferty on 18th February, bringing plenty of energy and familiar tunes that had everyone singing along!
We also felt the Valentine’s Day love with themed quizzes at both clubs. Do you know which stone in Ireland is said to give you the gift of the gab if you kiss it?!
Welcoming a New Team Member
We are delighted to welcome Sinéad to the BIAS team as our new Advice Services Manager, supporting services across both Brent and Haringey.
Originally from Mayo, Sinéad previously worked in housing and with the Irish Pension Service before moving to the UK. She brings over 20 years of experience in the charitable sector, managing welfare services and developing strong expertise in regulatory compliance.
Sinéad is passionate about supporting the Irish community across London and helping improve quality of life through access to benefits and welfare services.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to live music, reading, crocheting, and visiting family in both the UK and Ireland.
Looking Ahead
February has been another enjoyable month at BIAS! Thank you (go raibh maith agaibh) as always, to everyone who attends, supports and helps make BIAS the community it is.
Looking ahead to March, we’re already preparing for our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations across our services. We will run St Patrick’s events on Wednesday 18th March from 12-3pm at the Engine Room in Tottenham Hale, and on Friday 20th March from 12-3pm at Hornsey Vale Community Centre.
