We are thrilled to share some exciting news – BIAS has officially launched our Active Ageing Clubs in Tottenham! This new chapter marks an important step in expanding our mission to support older Irish people across North London with social connection, fun and wellbeing activities.
Our Active Ageing Clubs had a wonderful reception at our launch event on Wednesday 14th January, with local residents coming together to celebrate. From friendly conversations, music, dancing and bingo, the atmosphere truly captured what our clubs are all about – bringing people together and combating social isolation with warmth and joy!

These weekly gatherings offer older people the chance to enjoy a light lunch with tea and coffee, take part in activities like bingo, dancing and Irish music, make new friends and reconnect with the community. Whether you like to chat, dance, or simply share a few laughs, there’s a place for you at our club! So, join us every Wednesday from 12-3pm at The Engine Room, Unit A, Eagle Heights, Lebus Street, N17 9FU.
Volunteers – we need you!
Our clubs wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated volunteers who help create that welcoming, vibrant space each week. You could support in lots of meaningful ways, such as:
- Helping with refreshments and food preparation
- Welcoming and chatting with members
- Supporting activities and entertainment
Volunteering with BIAS is a chance to build skills, meet great people, and make a real difference in your community. Most importantly, it brings companionship and connection to older people who need it!
If you’re passionate about supporting older adults in Tottenham and beyond – we’d love to hear from you! For an informal chat about volunteering, get in touch with our Volunteer Manager, Marie, or Nóra, our Active Ageing Coordinator:
