BIAS welcomes new Chair and Vice-Chair

BIAS is delighted to announce that Eddie O’Kane and Mairead Liston have been appointed Chair and Vice-Chair of the board of trustees following the resignation of long-standing trustees at the charity’s recent AGM. Both Eddie and Mairead bring a wealth of business and operational skills to the charity as it continues to expand its range of services into the London Borough of Haringey during 2025.

Eddie O’Kane commented on his appointment:

“As a long-time admirer and supporter of the Brent Irish Advisory Service I was very happy when invited a number of years ago to join the board of trustees. BIAS is a fantastic charity which has been providing life-changing support in our community for almost fifty years. Its a privilege to now lead the organisation as Chair of the Trustee Board and I look forward to working with my fellow trustees and the management team on a long-term strategy to expand our reach over the coming years.”

Joining the board as Vice-Chair, Mairead Liston commented:

“It’s a great honour to be elected as a trustee of the Brent Irish Advisory Service, a long-established charity with a proven history of making a difference for society and now a focus of expanding this great work. I am delighted to join the current Trustees and management to support all their initiatives. It will be a pleasure to serve as Vice Chairperson of the Trustee Board.”

Mike McGing, CEO of BIAS, welcomed the new appointments, along with new trustee Peter Benson.
