This Friday 11th April saw the launch of BIAS’s new active ageing services in Haringey borough, at the Hornsey Vale Community Centre. The event attracted a wonderful crowd from Haringey’s Irish community and beyond, as well as representatives of other local organisations, who all gave BIAS the warmest of welcomes.
We celebrated our arrival in style, with lots of chat over lunch and glasses of fizz, endless cups of Barry’s tea and even a little dance.

From Friday 25th April we will be running regular active ageing lunch clubs for older people, from 12pm to 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and join us for a light lunch, tea and coffee, bingo, Irish music and dancing. The cost is £5.
BIAS will also be running free welfare advice drop-in sessions at the Hornsey Vale Community Centre every Monday morning between 9.30am and 12.30pm (excluding bank holidays). If you have questions about your pension, are struggling to navigate the benefits system, need help applying for an Irish passport or have any other worries, we’d be happy to help! You are also welcome to call us on 0208 459 6655 any time between Monday and Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm. For more information, please see our welfare advice page.
Please do drop in and see us – we’re looking forward to meeting you!
